TN MRB Assistant Surgeon Recruitment Eligibility Criteria
The candidates need to fulfil the following eligibility requirements:
Educational Qualification:
- One should have a MBBS degree from a recognized university, recognized by the Medical Council of India. Also must be a registered practitioner under the Madras Medical Registration Act, 1914.
- They should Completion of 12 months as House Surgeon (CRRI) required.
- Medical Council Registration: The applicant must be registered in the Tamil Nadu Medical Council by the application notification date (21.11.2025).
- Tamil Eligibility Test: Must pass the SSLC standard Tamil eligibility test. Exemption applies to differently abled candidates.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern 2025
The selection process is strictly merit-based:
- Computer Based Test: 2 hours, 100 objective questions (Medical Science, UG level). No negative marks.
- Tamil Eligibility Test: SSLC level (compulsory, except for differently abled).
- Marks obtained in CBT and incentive marks for COVID-19 duty determine merit ranking.
- No Interview: Only verification of certificates for shortlisted candidates.
Incentive marks are awarded for service during COVID-19 in designated government institutions, based on duty duration.
